The Best Method for Paving Your Garden
Excavation and installation of a compacted Type 1 sub base over a permeable membrane to a depth of between 100-150 mm and sometimes a solid concrete base is required with certain ground conditions.
Slabs are first primed for adhesion then individually laid on a full mortar bed and pointed with a wet mix of sand and cement or appropriate grout for porcelain. The different styles and patterns of laying different types of paving will all be discussed with you.
This level of preparation is an important part of the work and helps explain why a correctly constructed patio may cost more initially than paving installed using quicker or less thorough methods.
Budget Paving
We are also able to lay paving using a thinner sub base or no sub base at all using just a full bed of mortar in order to save costs. We would always recommend the use of a sub base as the correct way to lay all paving but in certain situations you may decide to go for the cheaper option.
